Rem Short Action FP Spring Rate?

I need a new FP spring for my Gilkes-Ross. I've been told a 32# spring for a Remington Short Action is the proper item, I just have no idea if this is the standard weight item or something more rarified.

Any comments or suggestions as to where to look are welcome please.

I know nothing about a Gilkes, but a 32# is about right for a Remington. Call Brownells and ask them. If nothing else, if you can disassemble the spring from the pin, yo can measure it and tell them what you have. I'm sure they can fix you up.

28-30# is what Holland's supplies for Rem SA, suggested cutting the longer LA spring if need be but I'd rather not if I can locate the proper length in 32#

I'm using the original KVB-7 primers (lot 1-03) & now find that in this particular action I'm getting 20-30% no-fire on the first strike, 100% of which go BANG when hit again.

I'm Very Careful about seating these primers pretty hard as I had problems early on when I started using them in a T2k. I've been shooting this GR action since early 2005 for mid-range & Palma events, more this year than any other. I know springs wear out in time, just not sure at what kind of round count I should change the spring.
