Rem Model Seven Bolt Issue

Bare action. No scope bases no trigger. Bolt will not come out. Bolt handle can be lifted no problem but the bolt itself will not pull back to be removed from the action.

A little back story. I built this rifle for a client about a year and a half ago. He shot it last weekend at our local match and placed third overall so the rifle was running fine with no issues. He says he took it home, removed the bolt and cleaned the rifle to put it away. He put the bolt back in and has not been able to get it to open since. He brought it to me this morning, I tried tapping on the handle with a block of wood and nothing. I then proceeded to remove the barrel to check if there was perhaps a piece of debris in the recess and nothing. I then stripped the action bare to eliminate any other possible issues like scope base screws or the like and no change. It's like the bolt needs to lift just a hair more to disengage the lugs and move back but I can't for the life of me find any obstruction. I have degreased and cleaned and blown compressed air into every possible area to no avail. I am stumped. This was a store bought brand new action, I sent the bolt off to Carlsbad to do his magic, install mini 16 extractor and bush the face for a 6 ARC build. I trued the threads and face of receiver and chambered a 24" Krieger barrel. Round count estimate is 500-600 problem free rounds. Any help would be appreciated.

Extractor moved free when it was here, I didn't see or notice any pins being backed out. Client took it home to mess with it more. I will have him check. Lugs are horizontal and everything looks normal near as I can tell.

If a pin has backed out. Try to pry it back in place. Or you will have to reach in with a Dremel carbide bit and grind it off,
Worst case - drive it out. I will leave a burr in the upper opening of the action.

You guys were spot on. I could never see a pin protruding at all from looking at the action face but a couple of light taps from the bolt face knocked the bolt loose where I could see where a pin had backed out just barely enough to cause a bind. All said and done, no damage to anything and everything is fixed up and put back together and working properly. Thank you all for the help. This forum is a great resource and full of helpful folks. Happy Fathers day everyone.
