i am looking for an action for my next project, i have 5 savages, looking to try a rem 700 short action, i see Walmart has a model 700 youth for $379.00 i am curious is this about at cheap i am going to find a rem 700 for.

More than likely! I'm also on the lookout for a REM 700 action in .223 for my next build, (.20 Practical). I saw a short action the other day and the fella was asking for $450.

Right now Remington is running a 50.00 rebate on Remington 700 BDLs'. I picked one up at Academy Sports and Outdoors for 379.00, with rebate net is ??. Purchase MUST be made by July 7th, 2016. Run, don't walk, to Wally World.

It looks like you can get the action/bolt/trigger from Bud's for $350. Doesn't give you any extra parts to sell off, but it saves the trouble of removing the factory barrel.
