Rem model 7 predator ???

Would you guys free float the barrel. It is a 223 predator with the magnum contour barrel. Shooting vertical groups now. About a prefect verical 2 to 3 inch groups. Not letting the barrel get hot either.

YES FLOAT THE BARREL AND BED THE ACTION OR JUNK THAT STOCK AND GO WITH HS PRECESION STOCK I HAD SERVERAL OF THOSE RIFLES THAT ONCE I DID THAT THEY SHOT VERY GOOD

My fireball shot well in the cheapo stock when I bought it used but I junked it anyway, shoots really nice in the H&S stock.

I have the one in a .243WIN and had the same issue. Restocked it with a HS Precision stock and now shoots a touch over 1/2" groups with the same load.

MOST THOSE MOD7'S IN FACTORY STOCKS THAT I HAVE BEDDED WILL SHOOT 1/2 GROUPS WITH THE RITE HANDLOAD

Bedded the ole boy today also added some acraglas in the barrel channel. I also free floated the barrel give it a try in a few days. Keep you guys posted

Went too the range to shot the model 7 after bedding and free floated. Shoots much better most groups 3/4 a few under 1/2" much improved. Thanks for all the info that help the rifle shot much better no vertical groups at all. Thanks again all

I NEW IT WOULD COME AROUND LITTLE TLC ALWAYS HELPS ENJOY !!

That's awesome it did a good improvement.

The vertical stringing is a sure sign the bedding needs work.
