Last deer season I offered to install stock inserts and and sling studs on a friend's rifle. I felt sorry for him having to carry it without a sling. The friend dropped it off here a few days ago and I decided to look at it just now. Upon removing the front stock on this Model 6, I quickly discovered that the wood is too thin to install the Brownells studs I normally use. This is of course a pump action rifle and there is no extra room on the topside of the stud to build it up with Devcon. Before I try something stupid, does anyone have a suggestion? I would rather not wrap something around the barrel for the front of the sling. Thanks!
