I Recently picked up a bunch of the discontinued Rem. 308 brass with the small primer pocket. The lot I have checks out well for uniformity and they are nice and light, averaging only 152 grains. I have heard of shooters using this case successfully at 600 yds but I'm concerned about consistent ignition with a full load of powder at 1000. They have a standard flash hole not the small hole like the Lapua palma brass. I know Lapua users have had misfires in cold weather but i wonder if that is from the small primer, small hole or both. I'm waiting until spring to begin load work. Has anyone used this brass at 1000 yds? Primer thoughts? I have Fed. 205m ,cci 450, Rem 71/2 and Tula std. I'm hoping to be able to use a little more Varget than with the Win cases i have since they weigh about 10 grs less. Any input would be welcome. Thanks
