Rem 721 Extractor

I have done some measuring and comparing. It appears that a 721 bolt face,.473) and a rivet style 700 bolt face a very much the same in dimensions. Can I have a rivet hole drilled and install a 700 rivet style extractor in my 721 bolt? I do not want a Sako.

Yes that will work,as i have seen a couple done that way,i think the 700 rivet may be a bit higher, like .001,you can measure, and lay it on a stone and take off the small amount on the bottom side by just rubbing it by hand.

I have not done what you are suggesting but have opened up a Rem 308 bolt to accept a magnum case.
A little warning: The rivetted extractor has a small extruded cone on the outside of the extractor. You must remove some material from the INSIDE of the bolt around the rivet hole to provide clearance for this. It is not easy to get to that area but it must be done.

Sir
Are you looking for a factory 721 standard extractor? If so I have one I will mail for $25. Also have several 722 early 700 and early XP snap in style if someone needs one. Thanks.

Respectfully,
Dennis
