REM 700 trigger work

There was a fellow selling tuned R700 triggers in the classifieds going back. Not sure specifically what he does though. A classifieds search will likely bring you to his contact info.

My Jewell, set at, slightly under, 1 Pound, in a Rem 700 SS, Short Action, 6 XC ( Varmint / Target Rifle ) W/ Criterion bbl.,.. gets me into, the 2's with, 107 gr. Sierra MK's,.. it's, an AWESOME Trigger !
I use, a Timney, Elite Hunter model ( Sub $150 ) on my Rem 700 .22-250 Sporter Bbl. walking Varmint Rifle.
I gave up on using, ANY factory Remington Triggers, EVEN the old, Warner one as,..
these Two, ARE, much, MUCH, better !
BECAUSE,..they STAY adjusted

Started in ‘77. I’m guessing they do it.
Is there anyone on here who dies this ?
Thanks , Kenneth

The old Remington trigger is fully adjustable for weight of pull, overall travel, and sear engagement...With screws. Used to adjust them on every rifle yrs ago. They work down to about 1.5 lbs safely when properly adjusted, and springs are available... Good enough for most work. I use one on my 308 hunting rifle 2 lbs. For target I use aftermarket triggers from 2 to 4 ozs. I don't have any of the latest manufactured Remington rifles or their triggers, so I know nothing about them or any improvements, or problems.
Mine are all old, quite a few laying around, as I repurposed the actions for other calibers and added aftermarket triggers...except the hunting 308 has a Bartlein 9 twist and an adjusted old factory 700 trigger set at slightly less than 2 lbs. Easy to shoot well with it. The old Varmint shooters all Remingtons are factory triggers set at 1.5 lb, 222, 17 Rem, 220 Swift... not many left in orginal form.
