Hello,

Rifle: rem700 sps tactical
Scope: vortex viper pst 4-16x FFP mrad
Brake: SFMB-762-5-8-24
Stock magpul Hunter 700
Rail: badger ord 20moa
Ammo: .308 175gr Blackhills HPBT

Previous stock. Was the hogue overmold that came with the rifle.

Before magpul stock. I was holding .396 inch 5 shot groups.

I replaced the stock with the magpul and added the muzzle brake. Now I'm shooting very low and cannot adjust the groups up. I just thought it was a shift in zero. But now I'm thinking other wise. I cannot adjust my sights any lower to zero. I've ran out of elevation. I'm still about 9 inches low.

Before the magpul I had roughly 3 full mils to play with. (Not .3 mils). Now I have zero and still too low. I have elevation adjustment for farther shots for days. I've just hit the lower threshold. For 100 yards.

I'm not striking the muzzle brake. And yes it was installed correctly.

Any thoughts? I'd find it strange I need more MOA on my rail for a 100 yard zero.

If I'm mistaken I thought the MOA rails were for father shots. Could the stock have added more MOA somehow?

Any advice? Or thoughts?
 
If your out of elevation and cannot bring down to 100 yards you need less moa rail, your cant at this time is to much, you can replace rail or burris rings with the 10 and 20 moa bushings if yu do that you put the 10 or 20 moa + to bottom of front ring
 
I'd be mighty impressed if you managed to install a R700 rail backwards.
I would try it without the brake and see if it's still low.
Is there a part of the stock forward of the lug in contact with the barrel?

Nothing, complete free float. I've done the dollar test. I'll shoot tomorrow and see what's up and get bette information.

So if there is anything you'd like me to document I'll do it
 
I'm thinking it's more in line with you requiring to re-setup your zero stop on your turret possibly.

ok, ..if your POI is low compared to your POA, then perhaps your attempting to turn your turret in the wrong direction maybe. that rail shouldn't be an issue as that scope claims a 75 MOA range of adjustment. Are you dialing your turret up? or down? Counter-clockwise to raise your POI.

clockwise is down, ...sort of like moving your POI down from your POA. I think you might have had a "brain fart" in the opposite direction in regards to turret direction and moving your point of impact (POI) relative to your point of aim (POA). I have done that in the past at one point in time or other. Just thinking backwards for a moment. Dial your turret up a bit and you should see your POI rising upwards and moving closer to your POA. If I am thinking correctly your will need upwards of 36 clicks for 9" approximately, but I would try somewhere short of that first.

Is the rail backwards..? It sure looks like it , it's pointing the scope down were it should be lifting the front higher to use your down adjustments more... And that way you get more elevation adjustments...

I know it's late but it sure looks like it dropping the front of the scope in the picture..

I think that's whats wrong and you confused because you say you can't adjust it up but you have a bunch of elevation left that means you have a bunch of up left and it's still 9 inches low..
Your saying you hit the low threshold but it won't go up your turning the scope down expecting it to go up.. So I am confused..

I am not sure if it's possible to install a rail backwards but something is up you should be able to raise it a ton at 100 yards with a 20 moa rail..

Man my head hurts now...lol

I went and looked at one and I think it's on right and your adjusting it the wrong way... I thought it lifted the front of the scope. I must be looking at your pictures funny.
