They may take mine, but they need to decide which one of them dies with me.
Bill K how does a criminal take a firearm by having the serial number??? I know its a little different but all cars have the VIN visible from the windshield for all to see, Police, mechanic, auto thieves, nosy neighbors. Just curious!
SN lookupsI have a rem 700 action with serial # 682xxxx. Any idea what year this is? Want to see if trigger was recalled.
My 675*** is May 1971 production - confirmed by Remington a number of years before bankruptcy.1968-1975.
Remington started off each year group of serial numbers after the 1968 law with 62xxxxx, A62xxx, B62xxx, C62xxx, D62xxx, E62xxx, F62xxx, G62xxx.
Your 68xxxxx would put it towards the end of the group year 68-75 production...probably 1974/1975 shortly before switching to the A62xxx serial numbers.
The two letter stamp on the barrel in front of the receiver will give you the exact month/year.
