Rem 700 question

are the receivers different ( feed rails ) on Remington 700 actions for 204, 223 etc from the actions made for 243, 308, etc or is the difference only in the magazine box and follower ( naturally the bolt face is different ) thanks

Feed rails are different from one cartridge family to the next.

Easy to open the rails for larger calibers, but pretty hard to close down the big ones to smaller calibers..

Yes the feed rail opening is narrower for the .222 family.
