Rem 700 j lock removal and trigger work.

Is there a reputable person on the board that can get rid of the j lock on the bolt of my 700 and also do a trigger job with just the trigger mechanism (not being in the rifle)? I will mail the bolt and trigger mech.

Also you should get this tool to make removal for cleaning and repairs easier.

also IMO its best to have the entire gun to do a trigger job correctly.

Way easier and a lot cheaper than paying a gunsmith to mess around with it.

PT&G makes some really nice shrouds and firing pin assemblies. Probably the best quality for money spent

I just replaced the firing pin and shroud on the one rifle I had that had one. As for a tool, I just hooked it in my bootlace and unscrewed it.

The Gre-Tan replacement assembly is available from Brownells.

I got one a couple of months ago to get rid of a J-lock on a Model 700 SA bolt.

Or as one of the others pointed out, you could send your bolt to Greg Tannel (Gre-Tan) and have him do the modification.
