Rem. 700 front sight

Can anyone tell me if a Remington 700 front sight is screwed on or soldered on?
It’s a 1975 700. The rear sight was screwed on.
The reason I’m asking is I’m looking at maybe buying it and the rear sight is off and if possible I would want to remove the front sight too.
My gunsmith said every 700 he has work on the have been screwed on. Just remove the blade and their is a screw under it holding the base on.

as far as I know they are all screwed on...

i Did an online search and it showed a couple front sights that had 2 screws holding it on. One visible and the other under the sight.
The one I’m looking at doesn’t have a visible screw, so would Their only be one screw under the sight holding the base on?

you can get it off, even if it takes an angle grinder---i bet a screw under blade, unless rebarrelled--

I’m sure It’s the original barrel. So it’s possible only one screw is holding it on?

yep, correct---I have seen a single screw on a rem .22 if i recall??? all the CF rems I recall have two--there were some buckhorn sights from way back, dont remember taking one off though...

All that I have seen have 2 screws front and rear. Remove the sights and put flush fitting filler screws. LDS

Most of the time you break that screw trying to beat the blade off of it. Seems like every factory barrel i remove that had sights has a broken screw in the front hole
