Rem 700 rifle barrel with sights- can they be removed?

I was considering getting a newer takeoff 700 rifle barrel that has sights mounted on it.
However I want to take the sights off.
The front is a hooded sight.

Is the front sight removable on a Rem 700 rifle barrel?

In the past I have removed the screws holding them on and used filler screws to plug the holes. I was easy.

Remove the two screws in the sight base and plug the holes. If you only see one screw, than the other one is under the sight. Just drift it out and remove the screw. If you don't see any screws the base was soldered on, just heat it until the solder flows and take it off.

Did Remington solder their rear sights on also?

Preacher is correct, Remington never soldered sights. My post about soldered sights would only apply if someone put them on after it left the factory.Sorry if I caused any confusion.
