rem 700 firing pin assembly?

Guys,
Which firing pin assembly do y'all recommend for 700 sa? I need to replace an assembly with after market don't know which one to go with.TIA

I have the GreTan,Greg Tannel) firing pin assembly in all of my guns. I believe he is a site sponsor. Great service.

Andy:

I too have used Gregs firing pin assemblies, but feel the replacement of the factory spring with a correct length and weight spring is all that is really necessary.

I don't have any solid evidence to support this, that is I can't show before and after groups, but I have a couple of Greg's "light steel",I think that's what he calls them) firing pin assemblies and lock-time is noticeably faster with much less disturbance of the rifle when dry-firing than it is with a stock firing pin and fitted spring. If I somehow lapsed and bought another Remington, like that XR-100 I wound up with last year after I'd sworn off them), a new firing pin from Greg would likely be one of the first things I'd get.

I replaced the whole assembly as I had the "J" lock on my 3 remingtons. Rather than replacing the spring and the shroud I just replaced the whole assembly. I went with the fluted firing pin model as well.
