rem 700 feed jam

Hello, I need some help with this one. I have a new Rem 700 short action that will not feed the last round. I cant tell if the spring is weak ( its new) or the follower cant go up high enough. The last round will hit the nose just below the feed ramp or be tilted down in the back and be missed by the bolt. Is this a spring or follower problem? Or both? thanks for any help.

Rob, check and see if you have any burrs on the follower or the mag box. I had the same prob on one of my rem 700's; had to polish them both. Matt

Nope, follower moves freely in the box, even has freeplay, Im leaning towards new spring. Thanks for any help.
