Rem 700 classic. 222 rem what is worth?

I found a NIB a rem 700 classic 222 rem for sale. What is it worth? He is asking $800 for the rifle.

Regards

NIB $800 is a good buy from what I've seen. I would say you could pay $900 or more for that rifle NIB. Cheaper than a brand new CDL and possibly better quality.

I would check the price in the Gun Bible, and you also can e-mail Remington give them the S/N and they will tell you what year it was made etc........

Please post some pics of it when you get it............

Yours is a 1993 model. I owned the 92 model Swift. Good info link.. I would jump on that NIB Classic for 800.

My feeling is unless Remington brings these small caliber 700's back out, they are going to be quite collectible in the coming years. It seems like year after year, Remington drops what should be their most popular calibers and rifle lines for cheap, plastic, tactical style rifles that are just wannabes.

The 700 Classic is a gem of a rifle. Got one in .17 Rem, .222 Rem and .221 FB. That price doesn't seem to bad. I purchased the 221 last weekend, BNIB, for just a smidge less that.

Mr. Berg,
If you decide to part with the 22-250 before the underwear let me know, that caliber is next on my list.

I have a Remy M722 e-mailed them the S/N and found out the one that I have was manufactured in 1946. It shoots better then alot of the newer rifles I have.
The price you are paying for yours seems pretty fair.

What optics are you going t put on it? Post a pic of it when you bring it home...............

There've been several of the annual Classic series M700s that I wish I'd have gotten serious about buying when they came out. 6.5x55 is one in particular....

i bought one used at a gun show, found the crown was bad, it showed wear and tear so when i had the crown recut by my smith, had the chamber end shortend 1 inch and rechamber to 221fb, wow what a shooter. great pd rifle and good walking gun.

would not have done that had it been a "99%" rifle.'

I have a 78 classic in .243 and it outshoots my heavy barrel and the checkering is unreal on my particular rifle.
