REM 700 bottom metal

Quick one...Are the bottom metal/trigger assembly of a SA and LA the same size(length wise) except for internal box size?

The bottom metal assemblies are totally different in length and screw spacing.

Depends on bottom inlet. ADL is just a trigger guard.

What I'm trying to do is convert a DBM stock to either BDL or ADL. Doesn't matter which as I will install a follower and shoot it single shot.

It is either going to have to be a BDL or you are going to have an open hole in the stock. Was the inlet for the DBM any different than the standard BDL bottom metal?

Depends on whose bottom metal you have

Depends on the DBM. There are some DBMs that do not require additional inletting and work in the BDL opening.

However, most DBMs use the Badger M5 inletting platform which Is different than BDL. And unfortunately that difference is that its "larger" than the inletting for a BDL.

If you have a Rem 700 factory DBM stock/magazine setup then regular BDL bottom metal will fit the stock inlet perfect. If your stock is aftermarket the inlet could be one of many.
The factory DBM actions have different feed rails than ADL/BDL but using it as a single shot should work fine. If you want a repeater get a Wyatt’s centerfeed and it should work great.

Thanks guys. Well, if I can find a used regular bdl bottom I'll have to get it and see if it fits

Your dbm action wont have the feed rails that a bdl requires

It will have a follower installed for single shot shooting.

If you dont plan on using the DBM anymore, you might be better off selling the stock and DBM then using that money to purchase a proper single shot 700 footprint stock and trigger guard. You can inlet below the magazine opening of the action for the single shot follower and bed it in place.
