Rem 700 bolt options

I have a friend that has been waiting on a bolt for Rem 700 since FEB 7 from PTG . I was considering getting myself one but I don't think I can wait that long .

What options are there for this . Thanks

Never used one but kept it on the list in case an option was ever needed. I do not believe you can order different diameters like you can with PTG.

I have one of their complete actions. Haven't shot it much yet but I'm pretty happy with it. From my dealings with PTG, I would certainly encourage you to give Mack Brothers a call.

I do have a lathe and can bush bolts but it is a whole lot easier to just buy one finished . I will get In touch with Mack Bros. for sure . Thank You

I think PTG is good but the web page says 6-8 weeks not 4 +months , so trying to plan things out makes it very difficult .

I too have a bolt on order. Expected delivery April 28. Emailed, they are going to check on production for my bolt delivery date. Email them and inquire about your order number.

Don't plan on seeing that bolt anytime soon. I order a bolt in November 2021 and haven't received it yet. I've been given 2 different shipment dates, but it is never shipped.

With PT&G I have found that anything in stock, you should receive in about 2 months or so. If they have to make the item, they wait until they have enough orders before they start any production.

I'll second that opinion of PTG. They jerked me around for over 5 months on a Remington barreled action and finally admitted they were never going to get it. They took another month to credit me back my payment. Never again!

I'm still waiting on a counterbore that I ordered almost a year ago.

“V” or no “V” that is beyond what we should expect from any “Made in America” company. Interestingly, I recently made several calls to PT&G with a couple questions about their BM. The fellow that was answering the calls was cordial enough but had zero answers. He referred me to their engineering department. After numerous attempts to reach them it was obvious that the engineering department was not accepting calls from customers. So, I managed to make other arrangements, and after reading this thread, kinda glad that the “Boyz with the Bowtiez” were on the golf course that day.

Not surprised.
I’ve been burned by PTG with stuff they said was in stock but obviously wasn’t and painful waits.

I’d make some calls to we’ll known smith’s as they often have spare parts laying around.

Midwest gun works often carries factory bolts for the 700. As far as PTG goes they supply Midway with most things I ever need from them (counter bores, Reamers, Gauges) and I know they carry the bolts as well. I just buy through midway and avoid the hassle with PTG if I can help it.

Called about my bolt that was supposed to ready to ship in 2 weeks that’s been a month ago ! PTG has got to be one of the worst business for anything Gun related, and when you get it it might be like a reamer I got that had a neck that was thousandssssss over Lenght sent it back to be fix LOL ! They don’t have a grinder that can read a micrometer !

You should call and threaten PTG with a chargeback. I did that after waiting for 3 months for a bottom metal. After that call, they had it shipped the next day.
