Rem 700 Bolt Handle replacement

Does anyone know of someone who sells the handles that are set to be finished by a gunsmith ? I need one that is longer for more extraction contact so That everything can be timed perfect.

Any good gunsmith should have no problem timing a factory handle with minor mods even the new ones can be timed excellent. Ptg sells handles.

Why does he need a new handle? I started to reply that he doesn't need one but thought maybe I don't understand the question. The PTG handles do have a larger contact area on the extraction ramp. --Jerry

Pacific Tool and Gauge . They have a Gunsmith in Oregon they recommend .
They can give you the contact info.
I have used there handle and the Gunsmith fast Wonderful Service..............

Timing the action is not the problem - when the bolt is timed for firing ping position it doesn't have enough cam for extraction. Sure I can weld either the action or add to the cam on the handle but was just thinking someone might have this handle already. It seems that the rem 700's and PTG bolts don't match very well.

Holland's handles have extra in the cam. I've used them on the current RR serial-ed 700's and have to remove a bit in the cam to fit. I've been able to get closing and extraction clearance really nice and close with them. There is also extra material on the backside of the handle you'll have to remove to fit to action body to get lugs vertical and cocking ramp positioned properly after the cam is fitted and bolt is in battery.

Thank you --- exactly what I was looking for !

I did how ever weld (added to the bolt cam) and managed to get it working.....

Thanks JR
