It's a tack driver. my lands were cut so I can just load to mag length and it'll jump perfectly. You can have your smith ream your chamber to what ever you want, so if you want it at mag length, bring him in say a 308 Black hills 175g SMK round and have him meet the specs. It's what they do and they do it well.
I was using 44.0g Varget with great results also with the 175 smk
If you want I can measure OAL into the lands.
Edit: my length is exactly 2.800" so my bullets on factory rounds are in the lands. I've never had a bullet pull out on either my hand loads or factory loads. I have .002" neck tension on my hand loads.
