REM 700 243

I have a Rem 700 243 and just bought a brand new take off barrel with the exact same chambering with the recoil lug. As long as I check headspace, can I swap the barrels out myself? What are the concerns? The action has been previously trued. Thanks in advance.

If one receiver was blueprinted and the other was not, it's not apt to be a perfect fit, and the sights and markings will be off.. Other than that, no real reason you can't swap em out if you have the required gauges and make sure the headspace is spot on.......

If the action has been trued, one thing to look at is the bbl thread diameter. Typically, when installing a new bbl on a trued action, the bbl thread diameter is oversize due to the receiver threads being trued.

Just something to watch for.
