.243 AI will it cycle through a Rem 700 magazine?

Hello Guys,
Yet another project in the making since I visited Border barrels last week:

Rem 700 action
26" 1:8 border barrel chambered in .243 Ackley Improved.
McMillan stock.
Jewell trigger.
Talley Rings.

What I don't know is weather a Rem 700 will cycle a .243 Ackley Improved round through its magazine, standard floor plate).

There must be hundreds of rifles like this out there so someone will be able to answer this?

Thank you.

Steve.

Steve,
The .243 AI ,40 Degree shoulder) feeds well in my standard Rem. short action . Magazine capacity is reduced to four rounds though .:)

Aussie,
Thanks for that reply, I have the doner rifle now - a Rem 700 22-250 varmint in a McMillan classic stock. Just need to get it up to Border barrels to have it re-barreled then I can pillar bed it.

Thanks.

Steve.

Steve,
Sounds good .
Are you planning to shoot VLD's ? Need to ensure you get a short throat if so or you will run out of magazine length . Most like the VLD's seated firmly into the lands . Didn't learn this until after I had mine chambered .
I got a 9 inch twist in mine and planned to shoot the Berger 95 gn VLD but couldn't get it to group well at the desired velocity ,3250 +). Been turned off VLD's due to my long throat and am thinking about trying the 90gn Scenar .
Let me know how it turns out . Would be interested in sharing load info.
