Rem 700 223?

I have a Rem 700 varmint 223 26" fluted bbl Bell and Carlson stk that shoots 50Sierra bk 34-3440fps with benchmark and 2015, both group one hole at 100.
the twist if factory 12.

I am thinking of running a 223AI reamer in and curious if the added velocity with the 12 twist would allow the 53gr hornaday or the 55sbk to work?

any thoughts or experience with this combo?

I have a similar model to that, that I did have "punched out" to 223 ackley

it will dump all the different sierra 55 grain stuff I have fed it consistently into over lapping cloverleaf holes and will one hole the sierra 55 grain gameking bthp #1390

I have no idea what it would with hornady stuff.

No reason why either chambering couldn’t be encouraged to shoot those projectiles well from a 1 in 12 twist.

chatted with Afl, would go to the 22-204 if brass was not an issue, I have 1000 LC 223 and 0 204

I have a lot of experience with the 222m as that was my first 40x back in the early 70, shot it in BR for a number years, and later PD so I know what it will do,

the problem is $ and all new brass, etc.

Pardon me while I bust in but, my .224" experience has largely been flat base stuff and 52 grains or lighter, and some of the response here done got me to wondering. Is projectile length with some of the newer boat tailed 55 grain stuff getting it on up there enough so to make a 1 in 12 twist borderline too slow? Sorta like some 12 twist 204 Ruger barrels don’t want to stabilize 40 grain V-Max or a Ballistic-Tip but the same barrels will shoot the 39 grain SBK, and often very well.
