Rem 513T mag release

I have a "U S PROPERTY" marked 513T with a very, very stiff magazine release. What's the best way to soften the pull on the release~?

Check to see if it is dragging on the stock

Problem fixed by my local gunsmith, and he charged me $0.00.

The "fix" was simply bending the "tab" om thr relese and and instructing me to lean the muzzle of the rifle on abag or forward rest and then pressing the release tab~!
