Rem 40 XBR Jewel Trigger Install

I ordered a jewel trigger for my XBR. When it arrived I was too excited to pay attention too how far down my bolt locked. With the new trigger, it didn't seem to lock down far enough. It does not go down into the wood notch in the stock. I took the trigger out and it still does not go down into the notch. Sounds too me like the bolt has a problem. Any one else had this opporunity? I'm getting too old for this.....

Sounds to me like one of the action screws is dragging on the bolt. Have you tried it with the action out of the stock ?

Agree with this one. Loosen the front action screw about a turn or so and try closing the bolt. Ask me how I know. WD
