Rem. 280 & H-380 powder

Anyone load for 280/7mm Express? I have an abundance of H-380 powder and want to work up loads using it and Barnes TSX 150's. Any suggestions? Thanks

No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I checked the site and you cant use it till you get into 120 grain bullets.

IT will work well with 115/120 gr bullets but not 150's...............

I went out this afternoon and shot the 280 with the H-380 & 150 gr TSX's. It starts getting hot at 53 grains so I quit. I did not fire for accuracy but will continue to work on it. I do know 47gr of h-380 & barnes 140 TSX's in a 7-08 work fantastic in my 7-08.

After pulling the 150's and lowering the powder charge, 150TSx's & H-380 work great. 42 thru 46 grains make good hunting loads with the 42 gr being the most accurate but since I jumped 2 grains each load I am going back and work with .5 gr from 42 to 44 gr and see what happens to accuracy. Chrono is not available but my guess is 2600-2800.

it is interesting that hogdon burn rate indicates varget and 4895 faster than H380 thus i would consider h380 a good choice for the 150 as they list =varget and 4895 as suggested powders in their data.

Sierra list up to 51.8 gr with their 150sbt,
