Reloder 19 and 100 gr. bullets in .243 Win. ?

The Sierra Bullets Reloading Manual V6.0 app lists 41.8 gr. of RE-19 as the Hunting load for Sierra's 100 grain bullets in .243 Win.

I've been using IMR-4350, but QuickLoad indicates that RE-19 may provide a little greater case fill and higher velocities at comparable pressure levels.

Are any of you using RE-19 with 100 gr. bullets in .243 Win. ?

Years ago I bought RL-19 to work up a load with 105 amax in a 243win.

The accuracy was not very good, so I never used it again. Your mileage may vary.

I'd probably try RL-16 or RL-23 instead of RL-19 if I was you.

I too tried to get RL19 to work with a 100 grain bullet. No success in my rifle either. I did find however, that RL19 produced the most accurate loads ever fired in the same .243 rifle using Barnes 62 Varmint Grenades as a varmint load. My rifle (Ruger Varmint) prefers RL15, Varget or IMR4064 over RL19 with a 100 grain.

While I've always used IMR 4350 with bullets over 85 grains with great success in the 243, a friend of my swears by RL 19 in the 243. I've seen some of the groups he's shot out of his Rem 700, impressive, in the 1/2 moa range but I'll stickl with IMR 4350 - if it ain't broke don't fix it.
