reloading test tube

hey guys

do any of you have a location for buying small plastic test tube with secure lids / tops that i can fill with individual charges for shooting away from my bench?

I know i have seen some for medical supply stores but can't seem to get a price on them.

Amazon has some for about 10 bux per hundred but I think i can secure them cheaper

Thanks

Greg

Do not use the plastic vials. Get the glass ones. The static energy will cause the powder grains to hang up in the plastic ones.

Do you have to call pacific vial to get prices or do you have to buy them from one of their vendors?

$.10 each is pretty cheap, significantly less than what we pay for brass.... With the right ammo case to protect 'em in transit they ought to last a lot longer than our brass too!

Buy some cheap stick-on labels while you're shopping so you can keep pre-weighed charges separate & clearly marked. Maybe some small rubber stoppers....

You can get static in glass and even with brass. I know because I had that problem with powder hanging on my case neck today that a quick wipe with a Q-tip that I had treated with a dryer cloth was able to remove. I think the static was from tumbling in media.

I've been using vials for over a dozen years for loading at the range at matches. My experience is that smokeless powder sticks to plastic vials and funnels. Funnels can be wiped with dryer sheets, vials not that easy. The finer the powder the more proclivity to sticking. H4350 gives little problem, while Lil Gun, N-133, H-322 type powders do stick. Even H-380 ball powder sticks. IMHO nothing beats glass vials.
