As of right now, it LOOKS LIKE hodgdon still has stock on the varget 1 lb and 8lbs (i was able to add both to my cart)
62 bucks / 1 lb does hurt pretty good. the 8lb'r is $410, which still hurts, but not as much (esp since all 8lbs are, of course, same lot # so you dont have to worry about lot to lot variation)
My rifle / combo (26" heavy barrel 308 bolt, 175 BTHP sierra, shooting long range (600-1000 yards), but for fun, not competing.... my rifle loves Varget
I lucked out a couple weeks ago and caught midsouth and got an 8lb for 315 which was great (and, as usual, i got the email notification it was in stock, clicked on it, bought it, 10 minutes later it was out of stock again.... its so hard to catch those tiny windows)
anyways. if I hadn't "lucked out" on the midsouth order, I'd be.... reaaallly tempted to fork out the 410 for hodgdon, just to have the damn powder and not have to spend hours and hours looking trying to find it.
anyways, man i didn't mean for the post to be so long! haha. I just wanted people to know it looked like they could still get some varget if they -really- needed it
