Reloading Components in Stock -- Running Topic

This has been a good a thread IMO, getting components into the hands of those that use them. We all know a bunch of the components sold go straight to gunbroker or wherever else and are being flipped for profit. This thread has helped me get a few things I needed, I’m typically too slow the majority of the time.

As it pertains to primers, I have as much as I need but not as much as I'd like. I've made the conscious decision to not buy available primers from Midway, Brownells and Natchez when they are charging $75-$85/1k for CCI 500 and the like.

I like these companies and respect their right to conduct business as they choose, but I will not forget how they chose to act.

Sportsman Warehouse has been very fair on the price of primers and they have them often. They do ration them out at 500 a lick. No problem to me. HB

i don't see any online retailer not charging the "new" prices that they are going for these days. And if a reloader does not have a local place to buy that's the only option. For some there isn't a choice if they want to continue reloading

for me, I look at the price per unit after Price/shipping/hazmat etc.

PV has the 500's for $70. Limit 1
Natchez has 500's for $85. Limit 5

Depending on location - the price per unit may be cheaper @ Natchez since they allows higher limits. Until last week Natchez had limit of 10K on primers.

Maybe I’m dreaming, but I distinctly remember Forum Boss shutting down a few other threads and saying he would leave this one open as long as it stayed on the topic of available product and didn’t devolve into a bitch fest about prices and vendors.

This thread has helped a lot of people find product they needed. Can we keep it on topic, so that it will help even more?

***** THIS ***** STAY ON TOPIC PLEASE *****

Steve McGee at McGee's Competition Stocks has gotten a shipment of Berger Bullets in. I was able to get two 500 round count boxes of Juggernauts from them and already on their way.

If you don't see them send them an email or give them a call. I generally just send them an email. If they are not at a competition, they are very quick to respond. There is a bit of a delay between getting the shipment in, unpacking, inventorying and then updating the website.

Also, you could not find a nicer couple to do business with. They are my first go to.

I usually do the same and expected to see similar shipping and Hazmat fees on my order for 1k CCI200 placed with Midway Oct 29th, I was pleasantly surprised to see $12.20 shipping and $12.99 Hazmat.

Nothing against you, Im just speaking in general but part of our whole problem has been these hazmat fees. Most peoples mindset has changed from buying a few to buying alot. i never used to buy 8#ers of powder until i had to start paying hazmat fees. i never used to buy more than 1000 primers at a time. Now I will probably not buy less than 32 pounds of powder or less than 5000 primers. it wont be anytime soon but thats the reality. if business rises to this occasion/opportunity like they do with most things everything will scale up and it will work out. Its not clear that will happen at this point. Thank You all for providing this Info here.

My approach has been to buy enough to wear out the barrel I'm working on. That way it can be matched lot and no scrambling for components.
