reloading advice

I am shooting a DPMS LR308. I am consistently shooting .5" at a 100yds. with 168SMK with 43.1grs. of W748 at 2496fps. I was going to send my scope off to Leupold and get M1 turrets for that load. Want to get others opinions before i do. thanks

Work on your LOAD until you've got bullets going through the same hole. You're not too far away.

The difference between being in tune and out of tune is only 6/10ths [.6] of a grain of powder. When I'm getting real close, I'm loading to .1 grain differences.

Fine tune further, with seating depth and neck tension if using bushings.

I've never improved groups with a turret change.

I'm reading that you are going to order the turrets for that specific load? I seriously doubt that most AR-10 is going to shoot a whole lot better than that. If you're happy with the accuaracy & velocity, have at it.

Keep working on your load as mentioned above. However, with an AR-15 DPMS LR 308 [that failed to register with me before], you're limited in what you can achieve, simply because of the magazine. That metal container gets in the way of very fine tuning. Everything you can do, has to take place within its' boundary. A half inch may be the best you'll achieve.
