Reloading 9MM and 380 for the first time

I going to start reloading pistol for the first time. I help advise as to
1- loads (9mm and 380)
2- Brass
3-primers MFG and size
4-powder and load
5-dies
6-where to buy? probaly the most difficult question.
I have a ruck chucker press and Chargmaster scale ( load for 284 )

Unique has worked for the 9mm with 115gr. I have used Lee dies & RCBS, both worked. You need to decide what bullet then match the powder, I used CCI primers.

the 9mm and 115 are a good combo, also the 125 range weights however give more recoil
i have fould Unique, and bulleye, -- problem with bull is it is dirty, however cheep as the grain loads are low so per pound a lot of loads - i shoot a lot of 115 Cast bullets .

380 use unique with 90 gr, mostly cast

any pistol primers i can find, remember this is short distance shooting not BR -- what you need is something that works in your pistol

I use Blue Dot with 115 Grain Hollow points. If you need brass, I got lots of 9mm brass. I can hook you up with some for free.

I don't shoot 380 so can't help there....

I load a lot of 9mm and shoot both hard cast lead and jacketed bullets, but mostly 115gr FMJ. I have been reloading pistols for a while and prefer using W231 powder in 9mm - its cleaner. HP38 is another clean powder that's good for 9mm - I use it with cast bullets. Most of the reloading manuals are good source for the amount of powder.


I use any small pistol primer I can find.
