Reloading .223 Ackley Improved

when buying the dies to reload .223 AI, is it necessary for the seater die to be Ackely Improved as well. I purchased a Redding competition seater die, but it is not AI, do I need to return it? appreciate the help!

Yes you need to return it.

The side walls on the ackley case should be straighter than the standard .223 case, so the ackley case won't go all the way into the standard seating die.

I called redding and they told me I could use my AI 223 comp seating die for std 223.

Sound right?
