reloader 26 300rum load data

Looking for load data for 300 Rum using reloader 26. I dont see listed on the burn rate chart I'm looking at but would think it would be somewhere around H1000 and retumbo.

Anyone ever tried any?

What Bullet & COAL ? And I'll run it on Q/L for you -

From the reports I've heard it is faster than H-1000 and most definately faster than Retumbo.

I think that for 190 gr. & lower bullet weight in the big RUM RL-26 could have a place but for heavier bullets I'd look to be running the slower powders.

I wanted to use either the berger 190 or 210 vld hunting. Length would be 3.550 or so for the 190 and 3.660 for the 210. At least that's where I think it would be based on load data from hodgdon load data I've looked at.

Local store has an 8lb jug of reloader 26, but not knowing anything about it I hate to buy it. I know H1000 or retumbo is the go to powder for this, but finding it isnt going to happen anytime soon. This would be for a new build trying to make sure i can secure the needed powder and bullets before I build it.

Good Morning,

- I run a 34" on a Heavy Bench Type Gun in this cal. and my throat is set long for the 230 gr. Berger Hybrid.

.308, 230, Berger Hybr OTM G7 #30112
COAL: 3.915 / 96.0 gr. RL-33 (57760 psi) = 3004 in a 34" BBL

.308, 230, Berger Hybr OTM G7 #30112
COAL: 3.915 / 91.0 gr. V/V N570 (56697 psi) = 3004 in a 34" BBL

Barrel Length is a factor for consideration in this caliber, and I realize that a hunting rifle has limitations.

I hope that possibly this information helps. - Please start low & work up and keep in mind that the length of leade in the throat will make a difference as well as your barrel length and if you choose conventional 4 or 6 groove versus a 5R.

Also, I've been told by what I consider as reliable sources that RL-26 is in fact just slightly faster on the real-life burning rate in comparison to RL-25.

So far I've only tried RL-26 in the 243 Ackley Imp. with Berger 105 gr. Hybrids & a 28" Benchmark BBL and I Like it a lot.

I use 85 grains of reloader26 under a 190g for for 3120fps out of a 26" barrel. Very accurate. Have shot up to 87g but not as accurate.
