I got some Re 23 to try in my 7 mag, shortly after it hit the shelves. I usually try to keep my 139-140-grain loads around 3100 fps.

66 grains, 140 Ab, 3155, .75 inch group
66 grains 139 Interlock, 3126, .5 inch group
68 grains 139 Interlock 3227, .75 inch group

This powder can be used for the same applications as Re 22, it appears to me. A good replacement, if you cannot find 22 for whatever reason.

Update:

Same bullet 0.016" OTL/barrel/cases/Wolf LR
49.4gr produced 2950-2960 fps at 38-72deg....no appreciable velocity change. Grouping essentially the same at 600yds

Edit- As ShootDots remarked earlier, this powder falls very close to H4831sc in case fill/performance but I had to compress the loads slightly with H4831sc to get to 2950fps in the newly chambered barrel (50.5 or so gr) whereas with RL-23 I could get near 2980-3000 fps with 49.8gr. At equivalent velocities of 2940-2950 fps I can get better groups with RL-23 on the test range and throughout a 600yd match. I may visit H4831sc in this barrel once the through is near done, perhaps with the 150 SMK;).

fps/ES/SD numbers above of 10 shot string, no pressure at 51.2g, 50.9g shot really tight.

197g SMK 2.562" BTO (10 off jam) 2718/10/3.4

fps/ES/SD numbers above of 10 shot string, 183g hammered there, 197g shot great there too but was close to pressure.

All I have so far. Looks like the 50.9g or 51g load with the 150g SMKs will be my season's load with the BJAI and the 52g load with the 197s and the 52g with the 183s will be given a long distance chance as well.

Hope this helps someone.

Please contribute if you have test data for RL23

I'm looking forward to getting out in the next two weeks to try it myself and will post results
My first load tested with this powder I was quite pleased I called the fourth shot pull that was me I printed these targets myself the grid is half inch

I have been using Re23 with the Matrix 146 and 162's in a 6.5 x 284 with great results. Barrel life on the first barrel is exceeding 1600 rounds. When I pulled the first barrel it was still shooting extremely well and will use it for the winter league later this year. Now on 2nd and 3rd barrels.

What primers does this powder like? I been using S&B primers but these seem to have a thin cup and we have taken out two triggers from blanking.

So far extremely impressed with the powder and have shot it from below zero to over 100 degrees with the same load with no issues at all.

My latest barrel just shot a 3/8" 5 shot group at 300 meters so the combo is extremely accurate.
