Reloader 10X and .223 55 and 60 grain loads please

Hi
has anyone loaded Reloader 10X or and Equiv powder in a .223 with 55 and/or 60 grain loads.

Are you willing to share a starting point with me?

Does anyone have a web link to Any Reloader 10X/223 relaoding data??

Thanks

Heaviest bullet I've shot with that powder is a 52gr AMax out of a stock Rem 700 VS,26" 12 twist.) My notes cover 22.3gr to 23.8gr charges with a sweet spot at 23.3gr.

Sorry, that's my only 223 and it likes lighter bullets.

I had occasion to test that powder when it first came on the market. When I received my sample I contacted Alliant to try to clarify what their idea of "lighter bullets and loads" was. It took a bit of trying and a sort of twenty questions challenge, but I got one tech to call bullets under 50 grains for the small caliber rounds and hrrump ah well....... .308 loads.

For the three rifles in which I have tested 10x it worked best with a .223 rem 40 grain sierra blitzking. I never got good results with anything over 45 grains in .223 and the .308 loads were a mess. Certainly it does not mean that 10x will not work well in your rifle for your bullet at your loading, but Alliant themselves have set the limitations of this powder, and they have others that work quite well in other applications.

Sorry Ogre6br, I don't get to this forum often enough, I didn't see your question. I never measured the my 223 velocity, I've been wrapped up in other things. Pretty soon I will get my chronograph back on the range and I'll cheak the RL10X loads.

It is not a hot load.

I'll ping you when I have a number.

Cheers,
Jeff

Thanks Jeff.

I've got some brass prep to finish cases and then I'm going to try a ladder method about 0.2 grain increments and see what happens.
would be very interested to hear what numbers you and others come up with.

I finally got a change to clock the RL10X load mentioned above. The details:

Once-fired Rem 223 brass
Hornady 52gr A-Max
PCM primer
23.2 gr RL10X
Stock Remington 700VS,26" barrel)
80 degrees, sea level

Ave. velocity was 3293 fps, ES=20, SD=9.

Hope it helps, cheers,
Jeff
