Reliability 40x45 Leupold comp. scope

I have been looking at leupolds comp. scopes for a little bit. So my question to the peaple using them is are they 100% repeatable, do they hold zero under recoil. How is resolution at 1000 yards. I ask these questions because when you see things like the Tucker conversion out there it makes you ask why. I use N.F. B.R now but with Leupold you save on weight. Thanks for feed back.

I'm sure you're considering this. But at a thousand yards I think you would miss the variable power.

I have two leupold comps and shoot short range 100-200 and have no reason to think they don't work perfectly. I have one March 40x and don't notice any poi changes in the leupold or the March. Comparing one to the other I trust them equally

Yes I have thought about this many times but what I can say is I shot a 12x42 N.F. All year in Compitition and never turned down to a single relay. I did how ever turn it don to see if it would help but found I liked seeing mirage more then not.

True, there was a period after they were introduced some had problems. I had just recently sent one from that era back and it now holds POA reliably. However, I'm with Tim on this one. There might be match days where they will work just fine for LR, but some days conditions will leave you wanting ....."you can't hit what you can't see" - words of wisdom from my mentor.

I do not disagree but I will have two guns for both classes and should not be issue. If it is that bad will shoot other with variable on it. Am really looking to hear on how well they focus, move when adjusted with out having to send a shot to make sure it has settled. There was a time when I shoot a lot of leupolds and have gravitated to others. But if they are making them were they can be trusted to move when moved and stay under recoil then would not hesitate to try again. Just looking for people's expierance with them
