Release triggers

I bought a BT-99 that came with a release trigger. Took it out after a couple of shots. Too dangerous in my opinion.
They’re meant to solve a specific problem. If you don’t have an incurable flinch then there’s absolutely no reason for one.

I don't remember seeing any factory loads slower than 1145 or 1150 fps.

Would appreciate knowing about such factory loads if you were shooting factory.

Very low recoil sounds interesting to me.

I loaded my own. But what got me started was I shot the Alaska State shoot while we were on vacation one year. They had Remington 1120 fps on hand. They shot so nice I came back did a little load development and came up with a great 1090 load. I shot it for years by the 10’s of thousands literally.

The load was either a Rem or AA hull. The AA have slightly less recoil. Windjammer AA replacement wad and whatever amount of Clays it takes to go 1090. I don’t remember how much any more. These recoil very soft and pattern very smooth and even. If you want a slightly tighter pattern use a Rem Figure 8 wad. And the biggest part,1 1/8oz 8.5 shot. Yes even at 27 yards 8.5’s going slow just hammer targets. There’s so much shot on the target ink balls are easy.

Thanks swd----sounds like a sweet shooting load.

I have a few 1145's and 1150's in 7/8 oz and 1 1/8 oz-----all easy to shoot.

You tempt me to go back to shotgun reloading.

I'm all done with shotguns, want a Ponsness Warren? lol

Does it take a special machine out of the ordinary i guess to load like a duplex or triplex 3.5” shell?
Yes it does. Since all the target shotgun sports are pretty much limited to 2.75” anything longer or shorter (a lot of vintage English guns use 2.5”) is considered more of a specialty.

And i suppose it takes yet another machine to load steel 3.5”? Ive never loaded a shotgun shell in my life but need to

Ducks mainly. Me and my friends go thru 5-10 cases of 3.5” #2 and BB and id like to load my own heavy shot blends for turkeys to keep from paying over $10 each shell
