registering guns on west coast

moving to the west cost in all likelihood to be closer to family. does anyone know once there if i buy handguns do i have to register them or not? Google gave me conflicting information. Thanks in advance.

can't give you exact location but somewhere in nor cal.

I lived in Comifornia for many years and you will need to have a FSC and register every firearm purchased.

The link in my prior response has info on what paperwork needs to be filed. California does not allow magazines with capacity greater than 10. City of San Francisco has their own restrictions on handguns. Keep guns and ammo locked in separate containers for transport.

FWIW In 20 years there I never had anyone at a firing range check the capacity of my magazines.
