refinishing FWB air gun stocks

I have 3 FWB,(Feinwerkbau) air rifles, 124, 300, 601, they were my late fathers. I think he started to do some work on the stocks, just sanded. Should I finish the project or leave them as they are? nilebartram

FWB’s are very nice rifles. Do with them as you think he wished or whatever will make you happy. I know the 601’s were originally finished in lacquer. I can’t say for the others. Of course you can finish them in oil or whatever you like.

I just removed the original lacquer from an FWB 300 stock and refinished it with tung oil.
Same here. Did the same thing. This is my rifle I use to get rid of ferrel pigeons and ring necks that poop around the house. Deadly accurate. JSB Match Diabolo doomed pellets. NIKON P tactical efr scope on BKL high ring mounts. It's a 10 meter air rifle, but it's deadly out to 40 yards.
