Reduced loads in Dasher and BRX

Thinking of stepping up to a Dasher in my Elesio R5 for NMC shooting. I would like the extra velocity at 600 yards but I do not need the recoil at 200 and 300 yards rapid fire. How do these improved cases like reduced loads - say 26 to 27 grains with 105s?

I am currently shooting a 6BR so I have a good idea about felt recoil.
If you have not shot National Match Competition, I will tell you that getting off 10 good shots sitting with a bolt rifle in 60seconds can be an adventure at times.
My 200 yard loads with the 6BR run about 3 to 4grains less than the 300 and 600 yard (fired prone) loads.
The 6BR's accuracy does not suffer much for the reduction.

Thus my initial question about the dasher and reduced load accuracy.

If you think the recoil is bad with a 6BR.you should have done it with a M1 or M14, you would be a better judge of what recoil is. I would say if you have issues with recoil i would guess it's your position, dry fire with someone simulating recoil and see if it comes back on the target……. jim

Does anybody have anything relevant to the OP's question to offer, or just baloney? Less recoil, regardless of the level, is better than more recoil, in an XTC environment. To the OP, in all my studies of the 6 Dasher I don't recall seeing any reduced loads. You may be in uncharted territory. I would venture that what you found with the 6BR will also apply to the Dasher. What about lighter bullets? I tried 68's in my Dasher just for kicks, and they were real zingers. But the 87 or 95 class bullets might be a bit more appropriate for the 300 line. Good luck.

I have used 30.1 g of varget in the brx case with the 105 berger and the 107 sierra for years for nmc. Now that I have a new barrel a load of 31.3 looked great and I will step it up, Recoil is not a problem with a 105 and a 15lbs rifle for me, If you need a further reduction look to the 95 grain bullets or even the 70 grain ones, for 200, and 300 yds and use the 105s for 600 yds. Good luck, Davek.

Thanks everyone. Just trying to keep bullet inventory simple on a budget.
I guess I might just give the Dasher a try when I rebarrel.

btw I went Distinguished with an M14 in 1987; I still shoot .30 cal.........in matches where everyone else has to. ;)

from a very good HP shooter who took up the BRX several years ago that I shoot with: he uses 70 Vmax OH, then 87 HPBT rapids, then 108 hybrids at 600
