I have twin nieces age 11 with youth deer tags. There both small weighting in at about 75 lb each.

I have two youth model 6.5 Creedmoor and would like to load up so Hornady 90 gr Vmax. Does anyone have reduced load for the 6.5.

Thanks

This was ask before. Shot this loading many times.

The small amount of powder is hard to see, before seating a bullet. To avoid a double charge, use some kind of powder check die/method.
From link-
You certainly can use imr4198 in 6.5 CM, but it will be low velocity plinking load.
140 gr bullet 16.0 gr = 1664 fps
140 gr bullet 22.0 gr = 2087 fps

https://forum.accurateshooter.com/threads/imr-4198-for-6-5-creedmoor.4029934/ H4895 is what Hodgdons uses, but IMR 4895 works as well.

I had my nieces out to my place today shooting. I had reduced loads for a 6.5 Creedmoor and 243. The loads I ended up settling with are.

6.5 Creedmoor 31 gr of H4895 and the 95 gr V Max and it shot real good. I had been using 100 gr A Max but ran out so settled on 95 gr.

243 28 gr of H4895 and Speer 85 gr S.P.

One of the girls is very soft and she was shooting the 243 Howa with a youth stock on it. After one shot she was in the groove. She was smiling and said, it doesn't kick at all. The other girl is more Tom boyish and shot a Remington 700 6.5 Creedmoor with a youth stock. Both girls were shooting under two inch groups at 100 yds. I'm excited about getting them out Deer hunting in both N.D. and S.D.17288588333695363210393997530243.jpg

And both rifle kind of reflects there own personality and colors that they like.

That’s pretty neat. What a nice thing to do for those girls to get them involved in hunting and shooting.

Can corroborate that both H4895 and IMR-4895 work well for reduced loads. IMR 4895 is much more available, and I have experienced no ignition problems or other weirdness when used under 125 SST's in a 308 with charges ranging from 32-42 gr.

I would imagine a 95 Vmax with 31 grains would be very soft shooting! It is also an accurate bullet that should provide plenty of expansion at reduced velocities.
