redfield scopres

I just bought a used weatherby,300 weaby mag) with a redfield, royal) scope on it. Is this a decent scope or should I replace it. I know nothing about refields. Thanks for any help.

The old Redfield 'Royal' scopes were excellent. They were Redfield's top of the line product and were made in Denver, Colorado before Redfield was forced to close its plant. I've still got a couple of old Redfield's that are performing just fine to this date.

Some might say,and rightly so) that these scopes have been surpassed in the area of optics by more modern designs that have the advantage of better glass, advanced lens coatings, and superior sealing but I wouldn't hesitate to use one of these oldies but goodies on a hunting rifle provided it was still in good mechanical condition. Enjoy it!
