New Redfield Scopes

Any information on the NEW Redfield rifle scope? I see that they offer 1" as well as 30mm tubes. Redfield at one time was a great scope but then something happened. I can not find anyone who who carries them or has pricing. teele1

I read a lot of advertising about these new scopes when they were first introduced last year after Meade took over the Redfield brand. They sounded very interesting, with a whole bunch of high-end features for what looked like reasonable prices.

They appeared to be available at Midway, SWFA, and some other large online retailers, but when I tried to find them in the stores none were to be found. I really hesitated to order one online sight unseen because I wouldn't spend that kind of money without being able to physically examine a new product like this before purchasing it, so I waited to see if any of the larger stores might put some in inventory. That never happened!

A few months later they either disappeared from the online suppliers offerings or were listed as unavailable. When I tried to find out what happened my inquiries were met by silence! E-mails to Meade went unanswered. All of this only lets me surmise that there was a problem with them, either in design or quality control. After hearing about Meade's poor customer service on this website I'm very glad that I avoided making an early purchase.

I realize that this doesn't go very far in answering your question, but at this point all that I can do is relate my experience. Perhaps someone with more detailed knowledge of the new Redfield scope line will chime in.
