Redding Boss I or II Mounting bolts center to center

I've been using the same RCBS press for decades . Time to buy either a RCBS Rock Chuck or Redding Big Boss. I noticed on the RCBS its mounting holes are slotted ? But what is center to center on Redding ? My current Bolt lay out is 3" center to center.

Boss has 2 holes in rear 2.75" apart, and a 3rd hole on left side (facing press) 1.62" from the left rear hole. I don't know if the Big Boss is the same. I like the Boss better than the Rockchucker for loading everthing but the thermos bottle cases i.e. Ultra Mags

But not the thermos bottle cases i.e. Ultra Mags ? Oh why is that ? I load the 7 WSM its as wide as a 300 RUM. That Redding press does look nice....

The RC is a bit beefier and it's lever system has a better mechanical advantage. One drawback to the RC is that you have to notch your benchtop if the front skirt board/counter top is more than 3-1/2"total height....the bottom linkage will won't fully cycle. I use Boss presses to load at the range, and that design mounts easily if you make an extended base (wood or metal plate) with which to secure the press with a 8" c-clamp. The Boss does not come with a ball handle, which I prefer.

A Handle doesn't come with the press ? Now the RCBS is looking better. With boss I'll have to drill a couple more holes in my mounting plate( 3/8 plate with pistol drill).

The Rock Chucker and the Big Boss make for a great combo. In fact I have them sitting side by side on my loading bench. My Redding is the Big Boss I model. As such, it has three mounting holes, two in the rear side by side (3 1/4" apart) and then a third that sits forward of the right rear mounting hole by 2". Makes for a very steady bite especially when loading Magnum rounds. As you probably already know, the center shaft on the RCBS Rock Chucker is 3/4" round, while the Redding Big Boss is a full 1" round. What I REALLY like about the Big Boss is the more open face room to insert your fingers when loading bullets. Makes loading those little bullets much easier than on the Rock Chucker, although I wouldn't part with either one of them.
