redding 6br bushing

With a .272 no neck turn, seems like most go with .267 or .268 depending on the neck tension you want. I have used both & haven't noted a difference in any way. Hope we have some more input from the more advanced shooters on this site.

Carefully measure a round with a bullet seated, subtract .002-.003 from that figure. This will give you a good starting point. Depending what your rifle likes for tension +-.001 to .0005.

i brought some 2nd hand redding dies and the bush is 266 the heads mark bad when i seat them i do chamfer the cases is this the problem

What is your loaded round neck diameter? Are you useing Steel or TiN bushings? Lube? IF you have a .272 NK dia. a .266 bushing seems awful tight. What head is being marked?

I tried the .266 bushing for a 6br and it didn't like it. I had to sort bullets for runout. I noticed that the tighter bushing I use, the more runout I get. I use .268 now for that gun with .002 runout. I use a .267 for my dasher with a lot of lube on the neck and its about the same .002. Both are no turns.

Now do not laugh too hard, but if I do NOT inside brush the necks with a nylon brush, using a .268 or even a .269 neck bushing, I get seating die marks on the point of the seated bullet and if I inside clean those same necks, the issue goes away and the bullets seat way easier! This is for a no turn .273 NK,actually .2725') chamber.

No not reaming,CLEANING the inside of the necks with a nylon brush to remove residue buildup. That's what Kodiak is talking about.

What I do is take a worn out brush Nylon or Bronze, twist a bit of 0000 steelwool soaked in Kroil and give the brush a few turns
