Saturday I set up my reloading equipment at the range and loaded 5 shells. I put a March on the Panda action and bore sighted. First shot at 100 was about 6 inches high. I dialed the scope in and dialed it to 800 yards. Shot 2, 3, and 4 went into 2 inches at 800.

I had one more shell loaded and conditions were perfect. I dialed the scope in and had a good feeling. There was one egg hanging at 800. I held dead on, squeezed #5 off, held my breath a half second, and the egg vaporized. In the last pic you can see the shell laying in the grass and yellow yoke on the rebar hanger. The Panda is hot right now.

Shots 2,3, and 4

Shot 5 sent yellow egg yolk everywhere, yellow yolk on rebar hanger
egg shell on ground
Egg was hanging on wire hanger

Unless it's Top Secret*, what is your load?

* don't worry about that even, I had a NATO Crypto Clearance in the Army.

105 Hybrid
Norma 203 B, 33.3 gr (58 plus 5 clicks on Harrell Powder thrower)
Robertson F-Class
Krieger 0.237 bore, 8 twist, throated long (my O.A.L. is 2.485)
Barrel was recently sent to Memphis and rechambered from 6 BR to a DASHER
The Panda is old model, not F-Class. It came to me with a PPC and BR barrel.
It was glued in to a dark blue EDGE stock. I have it screwed into a Robertson

Idaho, any idea exactly what a Cryto clearance is? I had a Cryto clearance myself but I don't have a clue exactly what degree of clearance it was. Never gave it much thought until the last couple of months. I'm not sure why it popped into my mind after all these years. I for sure remember the places I was in and out of.

think NATO, multi-national European troop command. My unit dealt with the possible transmission of orders to launch nuclear missiles, and provide terminal level security at missile sites on occasion.
Ref: Army 10th Pathfinders in Europe. The Army did not authorize Ranger Companies in the ETO during the Cold War. Every Ranger School Graduate had at least two MOS's (military occupational specialty). Every Ranger is 11-series (infantry) as a primary, with a couple of options to cross train. Medic, Radio Operator, EOD (explosive ordnance demolition, can't remember any others anymore.

11B20 Regular Infantry, An NCO (non-commissioned officer) will be 11B40.
If you are a graduate of Paratrooper School you add the designation of 11B2P 0r 11B4P.
Ranger School graduates are 11F4P. If you are an E-4 (enlisted grade 4) you are always promoted to the rank of Corporal, since you will command combat troops if the need arises.
Army Rangers wore the black berets until the horse's ass Bush, jr authorized them for all troops. He had to give all the pukes and REMF*'s something to be proud of.Since then, even cooks and truck drivers get to wear it. All jump-qualified personnel (paratroopers) serving in an airborne unit wear maroon berets. All Airborne personnel are also authorized to wear Corcoran Jump Boots. They have a thicker sole and heel, and you could then blouse your britches.

Ranger School Graduates, even those not currently serving in a Ranger unit can wear the Ranger beret. The wearing of the beret, generally green, but some units wore brown ones, dates back to 1756 in the French & Indian Wars. John Kennedy was wrong to give them to the Special Forces, who did not exist until his presidency. He was an embarrassment to the military, IMHO.

REMF: to those who actually served in a combat role, a REMF is a non-combat soldier, aka Rear Echelon Mother F---er. Think cook, mail clerk, motor pool mechanic, etc. Combat Support Troops at best.

To the best of my knowledge, less than 7% of the men and women who served (God Bless them all) ever fired a shot at an enemy combatant or had one fired at them.
If anyone ever tells you they were a combat soldier, ask them their MOS or if they have a CIB**. They had to be an 11-series.

** the CIB is only ever awarded to combat soldiers who actually served overseas during a time of open combat, in a combat unit. It is the Combat Infantryman's Badge. They are rectangle shaped with a musket surrounded by a wreath The rectangle is blue and the emblems are silver.
