I've been following the discussion on a different site in regard to the subject of a 600 yard world record.
Since we have IBS, NBRSA, and now Williamsport all of which have records how do we determine exactly who's got the World Record? Does it have to be shot in a sanctioned match, or do Club matches count? Reason I ask is that Terry Brady shot his .645 in a club match. If that doesn't count then how can Williamsport count anything since they are a Club unto themselves and not affiliated with any organization? So wouldn't that be considered a club match also????
Do we then have three separate world records one for each entity?
Simple thought would be we only count a record shot in a sanctioned match regardless of affiliation. However I don't think it can be that simple.
I'm not posting this to take anything away from the different guys who have shot these sub .750 groups. On the contrary I think they should be recognized for some great shooting and when it's a record they should have it, but I'm confused as to how to do this.
Any thoughts anybody?
