Recommended Target Backboard Materials?

I just set up a small Coroplast backstop for a trial. I had the T-posts. Brackets $8.00 each. 24" x 36" Coroplast $9.00. Works well with staple gun. In fact I left 8 1/2" x 11" targets out in two windstorm/rainstorms and the targets were still shootable.

As a non-profit, our club has been buying 4 x 8 CorroPlast in quantity (20 sheets at a time) from our local industrial plastics distributor for nearly half ($15.00) of the Home Depot price. The last we bought was about 6 months ago and prices may have gone up but you might see if you have something nearby.
4 mm holds up well.

Just go to Lowes/Home Depot and get 1.5-2" 4X8 sheet insulation. Attach it to a frame with screws with the plastic discs (forget what they are called or for formally). You can attach paper targets with toothpicks, and unless you shoot a lot of large caliber stuff it takes an insane amount of shooting to wear them out. Even then, I hang the targets so the core is in the same place so once you shoot a small hole through they are just passing through air.

I have a home range with these, I shoot quite a bit, I change them out about every 2 years.

Railroad ties staggered. Plywood up front. Cheap and last for years (depending on round count). Keep them upright with t-posts.

We had some company move into my semi rural area running fiber for yet another internet service. They randomly planted 18x24 signs everywhere along our county roads. I now have a 5 year supply of target backer boards and our roads are pretty again. They even replanted a bunch so I got even more!

All furniture and appliances come in really nice large cardboard boxes. Free for the asking, and reasonably sturdy.

Hammer two wooden stakes or fiberglass poles across from each other and the cardboard slides in between. I thumbtack paper to the cardboard.

Paper targets, last years desk and wall calendars, blueprints and schematics. Whatever is free. I only buy the stick on bulls- orange or black.
